Description
Blockers and post-PCR primers for target capture
GenieSeq Capture Universal Blockers & Post-PCR Primer Mix is a reagent module for hybridisation-capture workflows. It combines universal adapter-blocking oligos with post-capture amplification primers, reducing off-target hybridisation and daisy-chaining for cleaner enrichment and higher on-target rates.
The Universal Blockers are adapter-blocking sequences developed for common Illumina DNA libraries, including single- or dual-indexed libraries with 6–8 bp indexes. They stop adapters annealing to each other during hybridisation, which prevents library concatemers, reduces non-specific hybridisation and improves on-target rates. The Post-PCR Primer Mix contains universal amplification primers developed for Illumina TruSeq DNA libraries. All reagents undergo rigorous quality control and functional testing for stable, repeatable results. The module is compatible with the GenieSeq Capture Hybridization & Wash Kit. For research use only.

Q1: Which libraries are the blockers compatible with?
- Illumina TruSeq DNA libraries, single- or dual-indexed, with 6–8 bp indexes. Check the adapter type of your library before use.
Q2: How do the blockers improve capture?
- They block adapter sequences so adapters cannot anneal to each other during hybridisation. This prevents concatemers, reduces non-specific hybridisation and improves the on-target rate.
Q3: What is the Post-PCR Primer Mix used for?
- It contains universal primers for amplifying Illumina TruSeq DNA libraries after hybridisation capture.
