Description
Human FABP6 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human FABP6 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Ala128, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 16.53 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Gastrotropin (FABP6) is a ~14 kDa protein. Binds to bile acids and is involved in enterohepatic bile acid metabolism. For research use only.
Required for efficient apical to basolateral transport of conjugated bile acids in ileal enterocytes. In vitro binds to bile acids in the order: deoxycholic acid > cholic acid > chenodeoxycholic acid and respective BA conjugation modifies affinities in the order taurine-conjugated > glycine-conjugated > unconjugated bile acids. Stimulates gastric acid and pepsinogen secretion.
