Description
Human NSUN5 Recombinant Protein (C-Strep)
Human NSUN5 Recombinant Protein (C-Strep) is a recombinant protein expressed in insect cells, spanning Met1-Arg429, with a C-terminal Strep tag. Predicted molecular weight: 47.88 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. 28S rRNA (cytosine-C(5))-methyltransferase (NSUN5) is a ~46 kDa protein. S-adenosyl-L-methionine-dependent methyltransferase that specifically methylates the C(5) position of cytosine 3782 (m5C3782) in 28S rRNA. m5C3782 promotes protein translation without affecting ribosome biogenesis and fidelity. For research use only.
Required for corpus callosum and cerebral cortex development.
