Description

Human NT5E ELISA Kit

Human NT5E ELISA kits are used to detect 5'-Nucleotidase, Ecto (NT5E) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants and other biological samples. NT5E, ecto-5'-nucleotidase, is better known as CD73, a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored enzyme on the surface of endothelial cells, lymphocyte subsets, and many epithelial and tumour cells. It hydrolyses extracellular nucleotide monophosphates, preferentially AMP, releasing phosphate and the nucleoside adenosine, and it also acts on substrates such as IMP, NAD and NMN. Working downstream of CD39, it forms the pathway that converts pro-inflammatory extracellular ATP into immunosuppressive adenosine, which dampens T cell and NK cell activity. Loss-of-function variants cause calcification of joints and arteries. CD73 is highly expressed in many tumours, so it is a prominent target in immuno-oncology research.
