Description

Human SEMA3B ELISA Kit

Human SEMA3B ELISA kits are used to detect Semaphorin 3B (SEMA3B) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. SEMA3B is a secreted class 3 semaphorin that acts as a guidance cue for growing axons, inhibiting axonal extension and helping to mark territories that nerve fibres should avoid. Like other class 3 semaphorins it signals through neuropilin and plexin receptors and can influence cytoskeletal dynamics, cell migration and survival in several tissues beyond the nervous system. The SEMA3B gene lies in a chromosome 3p21 region that is frequently deleted in lung and other cancers, and reduced expression has been associated with tumour suppressor activity and with changes in angiogenesis. SEMA3B is therefore studied in neurodevelopment, vascular biology and cancer research, where altered levels may reflect disrupted guidance signalling or loss of growth control.
