Description
Human STAR Recombinant Protein (N-GST)
Human STAR Recombinant Protein (N-GST) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Cys285, with an N-terminal GST tag. Predicted molecular weight: 58.73 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Steroidogenic acute regulatory protein, mitochondrial (STAR) is a ~31 kDa protein. Plays a key role in steroid hormone synthesis by enhancing the metabolism of cholesterol into pregnenolone. For research use only.
Mediates the transfer of cholesterol from the outer mitochondrial membrane to the inner mitochondrial membrane where it is cleaved to pregnenolone.
