Description

Human WISP2 ELISA Kit (Small Sample Volume)

Human WISP2 ELISA kits are used to detect WNT1 Inducible Signaling Pathway Protein 2 (WISP2) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. WISP2, also known as CCN5, is a secreted matricellular protein of the CCN family, related to connective tissue growth factor, and it is also called CTGF-like protein. It may play an important role in modulating bone turnover, as it promotes the adhesion of osteoblast cells, inhibits the binding of fibrinogen to integrin receptors and inhibits osteocalcin production. WISP2 is expressed in the heart, ovary, mammary gland and adipose tissue, where it may influence adipocyte differentiation, and it appears to act as an anti-fibrotic and anti-hypertrophic factor in the heart. Altered WISP2 expression has been reported in breast cancer and other tumours and in obesity, so it is studied in bone, cardiac and cancer biology.
