Description

Mouse PARP2 ELISA Kit

Mouse PARP2 ELISA kits are used to detect Poly [ADP-ribose] polymerase 2 (PARP2) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants and other biological samples. PARP2 is a nuclear poly-ADP-ribosyltransferase that uses NAD+ to attach ADP-ribose units to proteins, and a key enzyme in DNA repair. It recognises and binds DNA breaks in chromatin and, together with its partner HPF1, catalyses serine ADP-ribosylation of target proteins such as histones, which loosens chromatin and recruits repair factors to resolve single and double-strand breaks. HPF1 also keeps the chains short, and PARP2 can build branched chains recognised by factors such as APLF. PARP2 has been implicated in genome stability, spermatogenesis, adipogenesis and the response to DNA-damaging therapy, and PARP inhibitors target this family, so it is studied in cancer and DNA repair research.
