Description

Rat Raftlin ELISA Kit

Rat Raftlin ELISA kits are used to detect Raft Linking Protein (Raftlin) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological samples. Raftlin, encoded by RFTN1 and also called cell migration-inducing gene 2 protein, is a lipid raft-associated protein that was first identified as a major component of detergent-resistant membrane microdomains in B cells. It is involved in trafficking of proteins by associating with clathrin and the AP2 complex, and it mediates internalisation of Toll-like receptor 4 into endosomes after stimulation with lipopolysaccharide, and of poly(I:C) to TLR3-positive endosomes, leading to TICAM1-dependent signalling and production of interferon beta. Raftlin also regulates localisation of the kinase LCK in T-cell receptor signalling, T-cell dependent antibody production and cytokine secretion, and may regulate B-cell receptor signalling. It is therefore studied in innate immunity, lymphocyte signalling and membrane microdomain research.
