The Recombinant eIF4G1 Monoclonal Antibody is a recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody (clone C111574) against eIF4G1. The initiation of translation is an important biological event and a variety of factors contribute to this process. Members of the eIF4 translation initiation factor family bind to the 5' m7GTP mRNA cap and unwind the mRNA secondary structure. The amino-terminal portion of eIF4G physically associates with eIF4E to stimulate the binding of eIF4E to the mRNA cap structure. eIF4G also interacts with eIF3 and eIF4A and serves as an adaptor molecule in the eIF4 complex. Produced by recombinant technology in Rabbit hosts and purified by Protein A affinity chromatography, this Rabbit IgG antibody is reactive against Human, Mouse and Rat samples.
This antibody is suitable for WB, IHC, IF and ELISA applications. It has been validated by WB analysis of HeLa, HEK293, C2C12, C6 and IHC analysis of Human ovarian carcinoma. The target is localized to the stress granule.
