Dopamine beta-Hydroxylase Recombinant Protein

Dopamine beta-hydroxylase/DbH oxidoreductase protein is a copper type II, ascorbate-dependent monooxygenase enzyme. The encoded protein, which is present in the adrenal medulla's neuroscretory vesicles and chromaffin granules, converts dopamine to norepinephrine, a hormone and major neurotransmitter of the sympathetic nervous system. Low levels of dopamine beta-hydroxylate is caused by mutations in dopamine beta-hydroxylase/DbH in humans. A deficiency of dopamine beta-hydroxylate is characterised by autonomic and cardiovascular dysfunction, including hypotension and ptosis. Dopamine beta-hydroxylase/DbH polymorphisms might be linked to a variety of mental disorders. Dopamine beta-hydroxylase deficiency and orthostatic hypotension 1 are two diseases linked to DBH.Dopamine beta-Hydroxylase Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
