The Recombinant PDK2 Monoclonal Antibody is a recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody (clone C131347) against PDK2. [Pyruvate dehydrogenase (acetyl-transferring)] kinase isozyme 2 (PDK2) is a kinase that plays a key role in the regulation of glucose and fatty acid metabolism and homeostasis via phosphorylation of the pyruvate dehydrogenase subunits PDHA1 and PDHA2. This inhibits pyruvate dehydrogenase activity, and thereby regulates metabolite flux through the tricarboxylic acid cycle, down-regulates aerobic respiration and inhibits the formation of acetyl-coenzyme A from pyruvate. PDK2 Mediates cellular responses to insulin and plays an important role in maintaining normal blood glucose levels and in metabolic adaptation to nutrient availability. Produced by recombinant technology in Rabbit hosts and purified by Protein A affinity chromatography, this Rabbit IgG antibody is reactive against Human, Mouse and Rat samples.
This antibody is suitable for WB applications. It has been validated by WB analysis of Mouse heart, Rat heart, A431, Neuro-2a, C6. The target is localized to the mitochondrion.
