The Recombinant SOD1 Monoclonal Antibody is a recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody (clone C110513) against SOD1. The protein encoded by this gene binds copper and zinc ions and is one of two isozymes responsible for destroying free superoxide radicals inThe body. The encoded isozyme is a soluble cytoplasmic protein, acting as a homodimer to convert naturally-occuring but harmful superoxide radicals to molecular oxygen and hydrogen peroxide. The other isozyme is a mitochondrial protein. Mutations in this gene have been implicated as causes of familial amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Rare transcript variants have been reported for this gene. Produced by recombinant technology in Rabbit hosts and purified by Protein A affinity chromatography, this Rabbit IgG antibody is reactive against Human, Mouse and Rat samples.
This antibody is suitable for WB, IHC, IF and ELISA applications. It has been validated by WB analysis of A549. The target is localized to the cytoplasm, nucleus.
