The Recombinant TAF1 Monoclonal Antibody is a recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody (clone C131484) against TAF1. TBP (TATA-binding protein) is a ubiquitously expressed nuclear protein that functions at the core of the general transcription factor protein complex TFIID. TFIID, which contains TBP and 13 TBP-associated factors (TAFs), contributes to the formation of the transcription pre-initiation complex, an assembly of multiple protein complexes (TFIIA, TFIIB, TFIIE, TFIIF, TFIIH, and RNA polymerase II) that bind to a gene promoter during the initiation of transcription. Once the pre-initiation complex is formed, RNA polymerase II becomes competent for elongation and transcribes the body of a gene. Produced by recombinant technology in Rabbit hosts and purified by Protein A affinity chromatography, this Rabbit IgG antibody is reactive against Human, Mouse and Rat samples.
This antibody is suitable for WB applications. It has been validated by WB analysis of HepG2, SW480, Neur-2a Rat brain. The target is localized to the nucleus.
