The MRPL28 Monoclonal Antibody (CAB0452) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. Mammalian mitochondrial ribosomal proteins are encoded by nuclear genes and help in protein synthesis within the mitochondrion. Mitochondrial ribosomes (mitoribosomes) consist of a small 28S subunit and a large 39S subunit. They have an estimated 75% protein to rRNA composition compared to prokaryotic ribosomes, where this ratio is reversed. Another difference between mammalian mitoribosomes and prokaryotic ribosomes is that the latter contain a 5S rRNA. Among different species, the proteins comprising the mitoribosome differ greatly in sequence, and sometimes in biochemical properties, which prevents easy recognition by sequence homology. This gene encodes a 39S subunit protein, a part of which was originally isolated by its ability to recognize tyrosinase in an HLA-A24-restricted fashion.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, IP, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Mouse, Rat samples.

Immunoprecipitation of MRPL28 from 300 µg extracts of K-562 cells was performed using 2 µg of MRPL28 Rabbit mAb (CAB0452). Rabbit IgG isotype control (AC005) was used to precipitate the Control IgG sample. IP samples were eluted with 1X reducing Laemmli Buffer. The Input lane represents 10% of the total input. Western blot analysis of immunoprecipitates was conducted using MRPL28 Rabbit mAb (CAB0452) at a dilution of 1:2000.
