Alpha Synuclein Oligomer Antibody [9D2] is a mouse monoclonal antibody directed against Alpha Synuclein Oligomer, offered by Assay Genie for research applications. Reported applications include WB, IHC and ELISA. Reported reactivity: Human. Supplied as IgG1 Kappa, purified by Protein G.
Alpha synuclein oligomers represent a soluble, neurotoxic form of the presynaptic protein and are increasingly recognized as early drivers of pathology in neurodegenerative disease. These oligomeric species disrupt synaptic vesicle trafficking and neurotransmission, impairing presynaptic function well before the formation of mature fibrillar aggregates. Localized effects extend to mitochondria, where oligomers induce oxidative stress, lysosomal dysfunction, and endoplasmic reticulum stress, contributing to neuronal vulnerability in Parkinson’s disease (PD) and related synucleinopathies. Their capacity to propagate in a prion‑like manner and initiate early synaptic and inflammatory disturbances underscores their importance in disease progression and positions them as high‑value targets for biomarker development and therapeutic intervention. This Alpha Synuclein Oligomer Antibody, clone 9D2, has demonstrated higher affinity to oligomers than to PFFs or monomers. This antibody is also available conjugated to ATTO 390, ATTO 488, ATTO 594, APC, Biotin, FITC, HRP, PerCP and RPE. Supplied in 100 µg. For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
