Targets covered

ACE2

A fluorometric kit for screening inhibitors of angiotensin-converting enzyme 2.

Alpha-amylase

Screen inhibitors of starch digestion for metabolic and food research.

More screening kits

Monoamine oxidase, nitric oxide synthase and arginase inhibitor kits are in high-throughput screening.

Background

How inhibitor screening kits work

Each kit supplies an enzyme and a substrate that generates a colour or fluorescence signal. A test compound that inhibits the enzyme reduces that signal, so potency can be ranked across a plate and expressed as percent inhibition or IC50.

FAQs

Inhibitor screening FAQs

What do I need to supply?

Your test compounds and a microplate reader. Enzyme, substrate, buffer and control inhibitor requirements are listed in each protocol.

Can I calculate IC50 values?

Yes. Run a dilution series of the compound and fit percent inhibition against concentration.

Are other enzyme targets available?

Yes. See high-throughput screening and enzyme activity for further kits.
