CD59/CLEC2C is a type II transmembrane protein belonging to the calcium-dependent lectin family. CD69/CLEC2C is activated during T-cell activation and may contribute to cell proliferation. In addition, the CD69/CLEC2C gene may also be involved in signal transmission in natural killer cells and platelets. Eosinophilic pneumonia and coccidioidomycosis are two diseases linked to CD69.
