Description
GenieDetect Nipah Virus Detection Kit (TaqMan Probe)
The GenieDetect Nipah Virus Detection Kit (TaqMan Probe) is a research-use probe-based real-time PCR assay for detecting Nipah virus (NiV) nucleic acid. The TaqMan probe format adds a sequence-specific detection layer on top of primer specificity, supporting confident identification of NiV targets in research and surveillance samples.
The kit includes primers and a probe designed against the conserved NiV P (phosphoprotein) region, HotStart Taq DNA polymerase and an optimised qPCR buffer system for efficient amplification of low-concentration templates. A positive control is supplied for assay validation and false-negative differentiation.

| Step | Procedure |
| 1 | Extract nucleic acid from the sample using a suitable method. |
| 2 | Assemble the probe-based reaction mix per the kit insert and add template. |
| 3 | Include the supplied positive control and a no-template control in each run. |
| 4 | Run the qPCR programme and interpret probe fluorescence according to the insert. |
Note: Refer to the product insert for exact reaction set-up, cycling conditions and result interpretation. Always include the recommended controls.
How does the TaqMan format help?
The probe hybridises to a specific internal sequence between the primers, adding a second layer of specificity beyond the primers alone for high-confidence calls.
What is included in the kit?
NiV-specific primers and probe, HotStart Taq DNA polymerase, an optimised qPCR buffer system and a positive control.
Which instruments are compatible?
Any standard real-time PCR instrument able to read the probe's reporter dye channel is suitable.
