Description

Human TRIAP1 (TP53-regulated inhibitor of apoptosis 1) ELISA

TRIAP1 (TP53 Regulated Inhibitor Of Apoptosis 1) is a protein-coding gene that inhibits activation of caspase-9, which inhibits apoptosis. TRIAP1 ensures the accumulation of cardiolipin (CL) in mitochondrial membranes, this allows TRAIP1 to influence mitochondrial apoptotic pathways. The TRIAP1:PRELID1 complex in vitro mediates the transfer of phosphatidic acid (PA) between liposomes and may serve as a PA transporter across the mitochondrial intermembrane space to supply PA for CL synthesis in the inner membrane. The TRIAP1:PRELID3A complex transfers phosphatidic acid (PA) between liposomes (in vitro) and possibly performs as a PA transporter across the mitochondrial intermembrane space. Spastic ataxia 5 and autoimmune glomerulonephritis are examples of diseases linked to TRIAP1. TP53 regulates the transcription of cell death genes and direct p53 effectors. Gene ontology annotations for this gene include p53 binding and phosphatidic acid transfer activity.
