The CCL5 Polyclonal Antibody (CABXXXXX) is a valuable tool for researchers studying CCL5, a chemokine with a crucial role in immune response regulation. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high specificity for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blotting. By binding to the CCL5 protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it ideal for investigations in immunology and cancer research.
CCL5, also known as RANTES, is a chemokine involved in the recruitment and activation of immune cells during inflammation. Its diverse functions in immune regulation make it a key target for studying diseases such as cancer, infectious diseases, and inflammatory disorders. Researchers can utilize this antibody to uncover the intricate roles of CCL5 in immune responses and develop targeted therapies for conditions where CCL5 dysregulation plays a part.

This gene is one of several chemokine genes clustered on the q arm of chromosome 17. Chemokines are a superfamily of secreted proteins involved in immune regulation and inflammatory processes. According to the arrangement of N-terminal cysteine residues in mature peptides, the superfamily is divided into four subfamilies. This chemotactic factor belongs to the CC subfamily and is a chemotactic agent for blood monocytes, memory T helper cells, and eosinophils. It causes basophils to release histamine and activate eosinophils. This cytokine is one of the main HIV inhibitors produced by CD8+cells. It is one of the natural ligands of chemokine receptor chemokine receptor 5 (CCR5), which inhibits in vitro replication of HIV-1 R5 strains using CCR5 as a co receptor. Optional splicing leads to multiple transcriptional variants encoding different isomers.
