The AGPS Antibody (CAB10484) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, produced in rabbits, shows high specificity for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the AGPS protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an ideal choice for studies in lipid metabolism, signal transduction, and disease research.AGPS plays a crucial role in the biosynthesis of ether lipid species, which are vital components of cell membranes and are involved in various cellular processes. Dysregulation of AGPS activity has been implicated in a range of diseases, including cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and metabolic conditions.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, IF/ICC, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Mouse samples.

This gene is a member of the FAD-binding oxidoreductase/transferase type 4 family. It encodes a protein that catalyzes the second step of ether lipid biosynthesis in which acyl-dihydroxyacetonephosphate (DHAP) is converted to alkyl-DHAP by the addition of a long chain alcohol and the removal of a long-chain acid anion. The protein is localized to the inner aspect of the peroxisomal membrane and requires FAD as a cofactor. Mutations in this gene have been associated with rhizomelic chondrodysplasia punctata, type 3 and Zellweger syndrome.
