The ALAS1 Antibody (CAB6521) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the ALAS1 protein, this antibody allows for accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an essential component for studies in biochemistry and hematology.ALAS1, also known as 5'-aminolevulinate synthase 1, plays a vital role in the synthesis of heme, a molecule essential for oxygen transport and many enzymatic reactions in the body.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Mouse, Rat samples.

This gene encodes the mitochondrial enzyme which is catalyzes the rate-limiting step in heme (iron-protoporphyrin) biosynthesis. The enzyme encoded by this gene is the housekeeping enzyme; a separate gene encodes a form of the enzyme that is specific for erythroid tissue. The level of the mature encoded protein is regulated by heme: high levels of heme down-regulate the mature enzyme in mitochondria while low heme levels up-regulate. A pseudogene of this gene is located on chromosome 12. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
