The Bcl-W Antibody (CAB1158) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the BCL2L2 protein, this antibody enables the detection and analysis of BCL2L2 in various cell types.BCL2L2, also known as Bcl-w, plays a crucial role in the regulation of programmed cell death, particularly in maintaining cell survival and preventing apoptosis. Its involvement in these pathways makes it a target of interest in cancer research, as dysregulation of apoptosis is a common feature of many cancers.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Mouse, Rat samples.

This gene encodes a member of the BCL-2 protein family. The proteins of this family form hetero- or homodimers and act as anti- and pro-apoptotic regulators. Expression of this gene in cells has been shown to contribute to reduced cell apoptosis under cytotoxic conditions. Studies of the related gene in mice indicated a role in the survival of NGF- and BDNF-dependent neurons. Mutation and knockout studies of the mouse gene demonstrated an essential role in adult spermatogenesis. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Read-through transcription also exists between this gene and the neighboring downstream PABPN1 (poly(A) binding protein, nuclear 1) gene.
