The Carbonic Anhydrase 1 (CA1) Monoclonal Antibody (CAB4406) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. CA1 is an enzyme involved in the regulation of acid-base balance and is found in various tissues, including the kidneys, lungs, and red blood cells. This antibody, raised in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. Its specificity for CA1 enables accurate detection and quantification, making it a valuable tool for studies in physiology, biochemistry, and medicine. The role of CA1 in various physiological processes, such as respiration, acid-base balance, and bone resorption, makes it a crucial target for research into diseases like osteoporosis, renal dysfunction, and certain types of cancer.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Mouse, Rat samples.

Carbonic anhydrases (CAs) are a large family of zinc metalloenzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. They participate in a variety of biological processes, including respiration, calcification, acid-base balance, bone resorption, and the formation of aqueous humor, cerebrospinal fluid, saliva and gastric acid. They show extensive diversity in tissue distribution and in their subcellular localization. This CA1 gene is closely linked to the CA2 and CA3 genes on chromosome 8. It encodes a cytosolic protein that is found at the highest level in erythrocytes. Allelic variants of this gene have been described in some populations. Alternative splicing and the use of alternative promoters results in multiple transcript variants.
