The CBS Monoclonal Antibody (CAB11612) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, generated in rabbits, has been rigorously validated for use in multiple applications, including immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and ELISA.CBS is a crucial enzyme in the trans-sulfuration pathway, converting homocysteine to cysteine and regulating the levels of hydrogen sulfide in the body. Dysregulation of CBS activity has been implicated in various diseases, including cardiovascular disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, and cancer.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, IHC-P, IF/ICC, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human samples.

The protein encoded by this gene acts as a homotetramer to catalyze the conversion of homocysteine to cystathionine, the first step in the transsulfuration pathway. The encoded protein is allosterically activated by adenosyl-methionine and uses pyridoxal phosphate as a cofactor. Defects in this gene can cause cystathionine beta-synthase deficiency (CBSD), which can lead to homocystinuria. This gene is a major contributor to cellular hydrogen sulfide production. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene.
