The CD163 Antibody (CAB8383) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the CD163 protein, this antibody enables the detection and analysis of CD163 in various cell types, making it an essential tool for studies in immunology and cancer research.CD163, also known as a scavenger receptor, plays a crucial role in regulating the immune response and inflammatory processes. Its involvement in these pathways makes it a promising target for research into diseases such as cancer, autoimmune disorders, and chronic inflammatory conditions.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, IHC-P, IF/ICC, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Mouse, Rat samples.

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the scavenger receptor cysteine-rich (SRCR) superfamily, and is exclusively expressed in monocytes and macrophages. It functions as an acute phase-regulated receptor involved in the clearance and endocytosis of hemoglobin/haptoglobin complexes by macrophages, and may thereby protect tissues from free hemoglobin-mediated oxidative damage. This protein may also function as an innate immune sensor for bacteria and inducer of local inflammation. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene.
