The CPT1A Antibody (CAB5307) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits strong reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to CPT1A protein, it enables accurate detection and analysis in a wide range of cell types, making it an excellent choice for researchers in the fields of metabolism, diabetes, and cancer.CPT1A, also known as carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1A, plays a crucial role in the regulation of fatty acid metabolism by facilitating the transport of long-chain fatty acids into the mitochondria for energy production.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, IHC-P, IF/ICC, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Mouse, Rat samples.

The mitochondrial oxidation of long-chain fatty acids is initiated by the sequential action of carnitine palmitoyltransferase I (which is located in the outer membrane and is detergent-labile) and carnitine palmitoyltransferase II (which is located in the inner membrane and is detergent-stable), together with a carnitine-acylcarnitine translocase. CPT I is the key enzyme in the carnitine-dependent transport across the mitochondrial inner membrane and its deficiency results in a decreased rate of fatty acid beta-oxidation. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
