The CROT Antibody (CAB4790) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, produced in rabbits, boasts high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the CROT protein, this antibody allows for the accurate detection and analysis of CROT in various cell types, making it an ideal choice for studies in metabolism, energy regulation, and mitochondrial function.CROT, also known as carnitine O-octanoyltransferase, plays a crucial role in fatty acid β-oxidation, the process by which fatty acids are broken down to generate energy.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, IP, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Mouse, Rat samples.

This gene encodes a member of the carnitine/choline acetyltransferase family. The encoded protein converts 4,8-dimethylnonanoyl-CoA to its corresponding carnitine ester. This transesterification occurs in the peroxisome and is necessary for transport of medium- and long- chain acyl-CoA molecules out of the peroxisome to the cytosol and mitochondria. The protein thus plays a role in lipid metabolism and fatty acid beta-oxidation. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.
