The CTSK Antibody (CAB1782) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, developed using rabbits as hosts, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the Cathepsin K protein, researchers can accurately detect and analyze its expression in various cell types, making it particularly valuable for studies in osteoporosis, arthritis, and other bone-related diseases.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Mouse samples.

The protein encoded by this gene is a lysosomal cysteine proteinase involved in bone remodeling and resorption. This protein, which is a member of the peptidase C1 protein family, is predominantly expressed in osteoclasts. However, the encoded protein is also expressed in a significant fraction of human breast cancers, where it could contribute to tumor invasiveness. Mutations in this gene are the cause of pycnodysostosis, an autosomal recessive disease characterized by osteosclerosis and short stature.
