The Ferritin Light Chain Antibody (CAB1768) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is suitable for use in Western blot applications. By binding specifically to the FTL protein, this antibody enables the detection and analysis of FTL in various cell types, making it an ideal choice for studies in the fields of biochemistry and molecular biology.FTL, also known as ferritin light chain, plays a crucial role in maintaining iron homeostasis by storing excess iron in a safe, non-toxic form.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, IHC-P, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Mouse, Rat samples.

This gene encodes the light subunit of the ferritin protein. Ferritin is the major intracellular iron storage protein in prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of 24 subunits of the heavy and light ferritin chains. Variation in ferritin subunit composition may affect the rates of iron uptake and release in different tissues. A major function of ferritin is the storage of iron in a soluble and nontoxic state. Defects in this light chain ferritin gene are associated with several neurodegenerative diseases and hyperferritinemia-cataract syndrome. This gene has multiple pseudogenes.
