The GPT Antibody (CAB2814) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and reactivity towards human samples, making it an ideal choice for Western blotting applications.GPT is an essential enzyme involved in amino acid metabolism and plays a key role in the conversion of alanine and α-ketoglutarate to pyruvate and glutamate. Abnormal levels of GPT in the blood are indicative of liver damage and are commonly used as a biomarker for liver function in diagnostic tests.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Mouse, Rat samples.

This gene encodes cytosolic alanine aminotransaminase 1 (ALT1); also known as glutamate-pyruvate transaminase 1. This enzyme catalyzes the reversible transamination between alanine and 2-oxoglutarate to generate pyruvate and glutamate and, therefore, plays a key role in the intermediary metabolism of glucose and amino acids. Serum activity levels of this enzyme are routinely used as a biomarker of liver injury caused by drug toxicity, infection, alcohol, and steatosis. A related gene on chromosome 16 encodes a putative mitochondrial alanine aminotransaminase.
