The GDF-8/Myostatin Monoclonal Antibody (CAB22725) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, produced in a monoclonal format, is highly specific for detecting and quantifying GDF-8/Myostatin protein levels in various samples, including cell lysates and tissues.Myostatin is known for its role in controlling muscle mass, making it a crucial target for studies focused on muscle physiology, exercise science, and muscle wasting conditions like muscular dystrophy. This monoclonal antibody allows for precise measurement and analysis of myostatin levels, enabling researchers to deepen their understanding of the pathways and mechanisms involved in muscle regulation.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Mouse, Rat samples.

This gene encodes a secreted ligand of the TGF-beta (transforming growth factor-beta) superfamily of proteins. Ligands of this family bind various TGF-beta receptors leading to recruitment and activation of SMAD family transcription factors that regulate gene expression. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate each subunit of the disulfide-linked homodimer. This protein negatively regulates skeletal muscle cell proliferation and differentiation. Mutations in this gene are associated with increased skeletal muscle mass in humans and other mammals.
