The BGLAP Antibody (CAB6205) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, produced in rabbits, specifically targets osteocalcin and is highly reactive with human samples, making it ideal for use in Western blot applications.Osteocalcin is a marker for bone turnover and is involved in the regulation of bone mineralization, making it a crucial factor in bone health and disease. By utilizing the Osteocalcin Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can accurately detect and analyze osteocalcin levels in various cell types, providing valuable insights into bone metabolism and potential therapeutic targets for conditions such as osteoporosis and bone fractures.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, IF/ICC, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Mouse, Rat samples.

This gene encodes a highly abundant bone protein secreted by osteoblasts that regulates bone remodeling and energy metabolism. The encoded protein contains a Gla (gamma carboxyglutamate) domain, which functions in binding to calcium and hydroxyapatite, the mineral component of bone. Serum osteocalcin levels may be negatively correlated with metabolic syndrome. Read-through transcription exists between this gene and the neighboring upstream gene, PMF1 (polyamine-modulated factor 1), but the encoded protein only shows sequence identity with the upstream gene product.
