The PTGDS Antibody (CAB1889) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This rabbit-raised antibody exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications.PTGDS, also known as prostaglandin D2 synthase, plays a crucial role in the biosynthesis of prostaglandin D2, a lipid mediator involved in allergic reactions, sleep regulation, and inflammation. By targeting PTGDS, researchers can gain insights into its physiological functions and explore potential therapeutic interventions for conditions related to lipid metabolism and inflammation.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, IF/ICC, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Mouse, Rat samples.

The protein encoded by this gene is a glutathione-independent prostaglandin D synthase that catalyzes the conversion of prostaglandin H2 (PGH2) to postaglandin D2 (PGD2). PGD2 functions as a neuromodulator as well as a trophic factor in the central nervous system. PGD2 is also involved in smooth muscle contraction/relaxation and is a potent inhibitor of platelet aggregation. This gene is preferentially expressed in brain. Studies with transgenic mice overexpressing this gene suggest that this gene may be also involved in the regulation of non-rapid eye movement sleep.
