Human Chemokine (C-X-C Motif) Ligand 14 (CXCL14), also known as VEGFR2, is constitutively expressed in certain normal tissues but is reduced or lacking from many established tumor cell lines and human cancers. The protein CXCL14 has been shown to be a chemoattractant for monocyte and dendritic cells. CXCL14 inhibits angiogenesis and has antibacterial effects. Mature human and mouse CXCL14 differ by just two amino acid residues.
