UBE2D3 is an enzyme that belongs to the ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family. The process of ubiquitination involves at least three classes of enzymes: ubiquitin-activating enzymes, or E1s, ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes, or E2s, and ubiquitin-protein ligases, or E3s. Tumor-suppressor protein p53 is ubiquitinated by this enzyme, which is stimulated by an E3 ubiquitin ligase.
