The ADH1B Antibody (CAB1431) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly reactive with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the ADH1B protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an essential tool for studies in alcohol metabolism, liver function, and related research areas.ADH1B, a member of the alcohol dehydrogenase family, plays a crucial role in the breakdown of alcohol in the liver. Variations in the ADH1B gene have been linked to differences in alcohol metabolism and susceptibility to alcohol-related diseases.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Rat samples.

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the alcohol dehydrogenase family. Members of this enzyme family metabolize a wide variety of substrates, including ethanol, retinol, other aliphatic alcohols, hydroxysteroids, and lipid peroxidation products. This encoded protein, consisting of several homo- and heterodimers of alpha, beta, and gamma subunits, exhibits high activity for ethanol oxidation and plays a major role in ethanol catabolism. Three genes encoding alpha, beta and gamma subunits are tandemly organized in a genomic segment as a gene cluster. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
