The GALT Monoclonal Antibody (CAB20966) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity for human samples and has been validated for use in various applications, including Western blotting.GALT is essential for converting galactose-1-phosphate into UDP-galactose, a key step in galactose utilization and energy production. Mutations in the GALT gene can lead to galactosemia, a rare genetic disorder that affects the body's ability to metabolize galactose.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human samples.

Galactose-1-phosphate uridyl transferase (GALT) catalyzes the second step of the Leloir pathway of galactose metabolism, namely the conversion of UDP-glucose + galactose-1-phosphate to glucose-1-phosphate + UDP-galactose. The absence of this enzyme results in classic galactosemia in humans and can be fatal in the newborn period if lactose is not removed from the diet. The pathophysiology of galactosemia has not been clearly defined. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
