The Ataxin 3 Antibody (CAB12992) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the ATXN3 protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an essential component for studies in neuroscience and genetic disorders.ATXN3 is a key player in the pathogenesis of SCA3, a progressive neurological disorder characterized by movement impairments and loss of coordination.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, IF/ICC, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Mouse samples.

Machado-Joseph disease, also known as spinocerebellar ataxia-3, is an autosomal dominant neurologic disorder. The protein encoded by this gene contains (CAG)n repeats in the coding region, and the expansion of these repeats from the normal 12-44 to 52-86 is one cause of Machado-Joseph disease. There is a negative correlation between the age of onset and CAG repeat numbers. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene.
