The Ceruloplasmin Antibody (CAB7658) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity towards human samples, making it ideal for various research applications.Ceruloplasmin, a ferroxidase enzyme, plays a vital role in iron homeostasis by facilitating the conversion of ferrous iron to ferric iron, which is essential for iron transport and storage in the body. Additionally, ceruloplasmin has antioxidant properties, scavenging free radicals and protecting cells from oxidative damage.By targeting ceruloplasmin, researchers can investigate its role in conditions such as Wilson's disease, where mutations in the ceruloplasmin gene lead to copper accumulation and toxicity.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, IF/ICC, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Mouse, Rat samples.

The protein encoded by this gene is a metalloprotein that binds most of the copper in plasma and is involved in the peroxidation of Fe(II)transferrin to Fe(III) transferrin. Mutations in this gene cause aceruloplasminemia, which results in iron accumulation and tissue damage, and is associated with diabetes and neurologic abnormalities. Two transcript variants, one protein-coding and the other not protein-coding, have been found for this gene.
