The COX6B1 Antibody (CAB12425) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in various applications, including Western blotting. By binding to the COX6B1 protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an ideal tool for studies in mitochondrial biology and related fields.COX6B1 is a crucial subunit of cytochrome c oxidase, which plays a pivotal role in the production of ATP, the energy currency of cells. Dysfunction of this enzyme complex has been linked to various human diseases, including mitochondrial disorders and neurodegenerative conditions.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Mouse, Rat samples.

Cytochrome c oxidase (COX), the terminal enzyme of the mitochondrial respiratory chain, catalyzes the electron transfer from reduced cytochrome c to oxygen. It is a heteromeric complex consisting of 3 catalytic subunits encoded by mitochondrial genes and multiple structural subunits encoded by nuclear genes. The mitochondrially-encoded subunits function in electron transfer, and the nuclear-encoded subunits may be involved in the regulation and assembly of the complex. This nuclear gene encodes subunit VIb. Mutations in this gene are associated with severe infantile encephalomyopathy. Three pseudogenes COX6BP-1, COX6BP-2 and COX6BP-3 have been found on chromosomes 7, 17 and 22q13.1-13.2, respectively.
