The EIF4G1 Antibody (CAB0881) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to eIF4G1, researchers can accurately detect and analyze this protein in various cell types, making it an essential asset for studies in molecular biology and cancer research.eIF4G1 is a critical component of the eIF4F complex, which plays a crucial role in the initiation of protein synthesis. Dysregulation of eIF4G1 has been linked to various diseases, including cancer, making it a promising target for therapeutic interventions.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human samples.

The protein encoded by this gene is a component of the multi-subunit protein complex EIF4F. This complex facilitates the recruitment of mRNA to the ribosome, which is a rate-limiting step during the initiation phase of protein synthesis. The recognition of the mRNA cap and the ATP-dependent unwinding of 5'-terminal secondary structure is catalyzed by factors in this complex. The subunit encoded by this gene is a large scaffolding protein that contains binding sites for other members of the EIF4F complex. A domain at its N-terminus can also interact with the poly(A)-binding protein, which may mediate the circularization of mRNA during translation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, some of which are derived from alternative promoter usage.
