The ELOVL5 Antibody (CAB16567) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. The antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. It binds specifically to the ELOVL5 protein, allowing for accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an excellent tool for studies in lipid metabolism and related research areas.ELOVL5 plays a crucial role in the biosynthesis of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids, which are essential components of cell membranes and play important roles in various physiological processes, including brain function and inflammation.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human samples.

This gene belongs to the ELO family. It is highly expressed in the adrenal gland and testis, and encodes a multi-pass membrane protein that is localized in the endoplasmic reticulum. This protein is involved in the elongation of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids. Mutations in this gene have been associated with spinocerebellar ataxia-38 (SCA38). Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene.
