The GAD2 Antibody (CAB0971) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, produced in rabbits, shows high reactivity with human samples and is specifically validated for use in Western blot applications.GAD2 plays a crucial role in the regulation of GABA levels in the brain, impacting processes such as neurotransmission, synaptic plasticity, and neuronal excitability. Dysregulation of GABA signaling has been implicated in various neurological disorders, including epilepsy, anxiety, and schizophrenia, making GAD2 an important target for further study.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, ELISA, IF-P applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Mouse, Rat samples.

This gene encodes one of several forms of glutamic acid decarboxylase, identified as a major autoantigen in insulin-dependent diabetes. The enzyme encoded is responsible for catalyzing the production of gamma-aminobutyric acid from L-glutamic acid. A pathogenic role for this enzyme has been identified in the human pancreas since it has been identified as an autoantibody and an autoreactive T cell target in insulin-dependent diabetes. This gene may also play a role in the stiff man syndrome. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants that encode the same protein.
