The HMBS Antibody (CAB1777) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the HMBS protein, it enables accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an essential reagent for investigations in biochemistry and molecular biology.HMBS, also known as hydroxymethylbilane synthase, plays a vital role in the production of heme, an essential component of hemoglobin and other hemoproteins. Dysregulation of HMBS activity can lead to various porphyrias, disorders characterized by abnormal heme synthesis.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Mouse samples.

This gene encodes a member of the hydroxymethylbilane synthase superfamily. The encoded protein is the third enzyme of the heme biosynthetic pathway and catalyzes the head to tail condensation of four porphobilinogen molecules into the linear hydroxymethylbilane. Mutations in this gene are associated with the autosomal dominant disease acute intermittent porphyria. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described.
