The HNMT Antibody (CAB13499) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific to human HNMT and is validated for Western blot applications. By binding to the HNMT protein, this antibody enables the detection and analysis of HNMT in various cell types, making it an essential component for studies in allergy research, histamine metabolism, and neurological disorders.HNMT plays a crucial role in histamine degradation, regulating the levels of this important biogenic amine in the body. Dysregulation of HNMT function has been linked to various conditions, including allergies, asthma, and neurological disorders.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, IP, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Mouse samples.

In mammals, histamine is metabolized by two major pathways: N(tau)-methylation via histamine N-methyltransferase and oxidative deamination via diamine oxidase. This gene encodes the first enzyme which is found in the cytosol and uses S-adenosyl-L-methionine as the methyl donor. In the mammalian brain, the neurotransmitter activity of histamine is controlled by N(tau)-methylation as diamine oxidase is not found in the central nervous system. A common genetic polymorphism affects the activity levels of this gene product in red blood cells. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different proteins have been found for this gene.
