The Phospho-alpha-Synuclein-S129 Antibody (CABP0450) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This polyclonal antibody, raised in rabbits, specifically targets the phosphorylated form of alpha-synuclein at Serine 129, a key post-translational modification associated with the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease.Alpha-synuclein is a protein involved in neurotransmitter release and synaptic function, with aberrant aggregation of this protein being a hallmark of Parkinson's disease. Phosphorylation at Serine 129 has been linked to increased toxicity and accumulation of alpha-synuclein aggregates in neurons, leading to neurodegeneration.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Mouse, Rat samples.

Alpha-synuclein is a member of the synuclein family, which also includes beta- and gamma-synuclein. Synucleins are abundantly expressed in the brain and alpha- and beta-synuclein inhibit phospholipase D2 selectively. SNCA may serve to integrate presynaptic signaling and membrane trafficking. Defects in SNCA have been implicated in the pathogenesis of Parkinson disease. SNCA peptides are a major component of amyloid plaques in the brains of patients with Alzheimer's disease. Alternatively spliced transcripts encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
