The RBP4 Antibody (CAB1600) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, raised in rabbits, has been validated for use in Western blot applications and is highly reactive with human samples.RBP4, also known as retinol-binding protein 4, plays a crucial role in the transport of retinol (vitamin A) in the blood and has been implicated in the development of insulin resistance and metabolic disorders. By targeting RBP4, researchers can gain insights into the mechanisms underlying these conditions and potentially identify new therapeutic targets.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Mouse samples.

This protein belongs to the lipocalin family and is the specific carrier for retinol (vitamin A alcohol) in the blood. It delivers retinol from the liver stores to the peripheral tissues. In plasma, the RBP-retinol complex interacts with transthyretin which prevents its loss by filtration through the kidney glomeruli. A deficiency of vitamin A blocks secretion of the binding protein posttranslationally and results in defective delivery and supply to the epidermal cells.
