The SOST Polyclonal Antibody (CAB24852) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly sensitive and specific for detecting SOST in human samples, making it ideal for use in Western blot applications. By targeting SOST, researchers can investigate its role in bone metabolism and its potential as a therapeutic target for conditions such as osteoporosis.SOST, also known as sclerostin, acts as a negative regulator of bone formation by inhibiting the Wnt signaling pathway. Dysregulation of SOST has been implicated in conditions such as osteoporosis and other bone diseases, making it an important focus of research in the field of skeletal biology.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human samples.

Sclerostin is a secreted glycoprotein with a C-terminal cysteine knot-like (CTCK) domain and sequence similarity to the DAN (differential screening-selected gene aberrative in neuroblastoma) family of bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) antagonists. Loss-of-function mutations in this gene are associated with an autosomal-recessive disorder, sclerosteosis, which causes progressive bone overgrowth. A deletion downstream of this gene, which causes reduced sclerostin expression, is associated with a milder form of the disorder called van Buchem disease.
